Collectively, we’re lowering the floor and raising the ceiling for development. Anyone can now build applications, while experienced developers can create more, faster. Right now: - Netlify crossed 7 million developers; a quick leap foward from [5 million last fall](https://www.netlify.com/blog/celebrating-5-million-developers/). - The [world’s largest hackathon](https://hackathon.dev/) is taking place, with enough registrants (76,782 at the time of this post) to sell out the Kansas City Chief’s Arrowhead Stadium. Clearly, this shift means more code than ever before. But turning that code into live, secure applications requires infrastructure fit for our new reality. Today marks the start of Netlify’s Agent Week–a week dedicated to making building and deploying with AI agents efficient and effective for any stack and application. ## From AX theory to practice Earlier this year, our CEO Matt Biilmann wrote about [why Agent Experience matters](https://biilmann.blog/articles/introducing-ax/) and how it would become the next frontier after UX and DX. He defined AX as “the holistic experience AI agents have as users of a product or platform.” In the four months since, a lifetime in AI, this shift has accelerated beyond our expectations. We can now scaffold entire web applications from a prompt. What used to take days now happens in minutes, and developers are embracing these collaborative workflows across the industry. But a big gap remains. While agents excel at generating code, they need infrastructure specifically designed for them to test, deploy, and run what they create. Generated code is going mainstream, but the path from prompt to production is still filled with obstacles. Since Matt’s initial post, we’ve focused on solving this exact problem; connecting code generation directly to production deployment and creating a cohesive experience for both agents and the developers who work with them. ## Filling the gap from prompt to production How do we create the shortest path from an agent-written prompt to a live URL? How do we make our platform not just developer-friendly, but agent-friendly? Agent Week is our answer. Over the next four days, we’ll unveil what we’re up to to create the most agent-friendly infrastructure in the industry. Our goal: make Netlify turn AI-generated code into production-ready apps. Our team has rethought Netlify through the lens of AX. The result is a workflow that allows agents to deploy, test, and run fullstack applications with minimal config–while giving developers the control they need. ### What to expect this week We’re rolling out new capabilities designed to help you work with AI agents. This hackathon brings together the Bolt community and a million dollars worth of prizes to build with AI agents, and Netlify provides the ideal platform to deploy what you create. Whether you’re a senior developer looking to accelerate your workflow or someone new who wants to explore what AI can do, the hackathon is a great way to jump in.
