A few words with Seth from MojoTech...

Could you tell us about your project?
Netlify
Our company has grown a lot of the last few years and it was time to rethink how we are presenting our services to our clients, prospective clients, and recruits. We really wanted to focus on the fact that we are not a shop of hire-by-the-hour code monkeys. We are first-rate software engineers, designers, and strategists who follow (and constantly iterate upon) our finely-tuned, proven processes. In addition to this motivation, not only did our site need to generate leads, it needed to be setup in a way that any Mojo could hop onto the project at any time and contribute to building it out, with as little friction as possible. This is where Netlify’s custom setup became critical. It didn’t hold us back.
Seth Krasnianski Software Engineer, MojoTech
Why did you choose Netlify?
Netlify
Our previous version of the website was built on top of Netlify, and after having an incredibly smooth experience with the last version it made perfect sense to stick with Netlify to host the next version. We like to think of Netlify as the Heroku of static websites. The simplicity around deploying and iterating on functionality is unparalleled. You cannot achieve it as well as Netlify does with a custom setup. Nor are there any competitors that come close to offering what Netlify does. The first no-brainer was having the ability to version and rollback our website, if we found a regression in a recent release or maybe we determined that something needed a bit more love before entering the public eye. It’s HUGE to have deploy links, I cannot stress that enough. When a pull request has finished code review and a designer or PM needs to ensure its visual quality, it’s as simple as shooting them a link (or seeing the slack notification of deployment :D!!!).
Seth Krasnianski Software Engineer, MojoTech
What’s your favorite thing about Netlify?
Netlify
Their constant evolution. They’re always making the platform better. Not only are they enhancing the current UI and functionality, but I feel that it’s every other day I find a fun and exciting OS project they’ve released to further improve the JAMstack. We <3 Netlify.

Kitnic

The concept of open hardware faces many challenges when compared with open software, which is highly collaborative. Kitnic is a registry of open hardware electronics projects that are ready for you to order and build. Their goal is to bring open hardware to the level we see with open software by providing a dynamic and collaborative process around electronics.

In four steps a new project is uploaded to maintain this ‘open’ source hardware mentality. By pairing a custom asset pipeline with GitHub and Netlify, Kitnic is able to build a place for open hardware to prosper.

Reactathon

We love the React community and we are excited to spread the word about Reactathon.

To foster the robust community in San Francisco, Reactathon has planned a week full of exciting events. In fact, we’ll be there ourselves hosting a workshop, delivering a keynote, and hanging out at the hiring mixer.

When the team from Real World React was looking for a platform to deploy their site for Reactathon, they chose Netlify. Already believers in the JAMstack approach, the Real World React team utilized Netlify seamlessly from the get go. Check out which integrations and features they love most.

React Boilerplate

The open source project, React Boilerplate, is a highly scalable, offline-first foundation with the best developer experience and a focus on performance and best practices. It helps take away some of the obstacles you may face with a new library and gives you somewhere to start.

Netlify was excited to extend an open source plan to React Boilerplate, especially since we use it in-house ourselves. Combined with a few external tools they’re able to take advantage of a workflow that enables the highest level of collaboration, a necessity for an open source project.
