A few words with Matteo from Nebulab...

Could you tell us about your project?
Netlify
We’re a team of 12 people spread over Italy working remotely for clients abroad. We required a fast and agile way to manage content and ideas for our website. It needed to be fast, managed via GitHub PRs and everybody needed to have a look at previews before merging. Everything needs to be managed via GitHub and be completely transparent because nobody really wants to learn another service.
Matteo Latini Windjammers Guru (Developer), Nebulab
Why did you choose Netlify?
Netlify
Before moving to Netlify we had a custom setup that deployed PR previews via nginx on a staging server and when everything was merged the code was moved to GitHub Pages. Everything was run via CircleCI, it was slow as hell and needed to be maintained… When we found out about Netlify it was a no-brainer because it does everything we built from scratch. It also added more speed, https and better Google PageSpeed scores. And we don’t have to maintain it anymore :)
Matteo Latini Windjammers Guru (Developer), Nebulab
What’s your favorite thing about Netlify?
Netlify
We really like the fact that’s completely transparent. We get notifications on Slack about new previews and we can share ideas without worrying about the service layer. It’s also freaking fast both when it comes to deploys and when the website is being served to clients.

We all enjoy an awesome meetup every now and then, but a meetup paired with donuts? Now that’s beyond! The Donut.js team in Portland, OR was inspired by groups like Brooklyn.js and Waffle.js. They bring together the love of code and the deliciousness of donuts.

Being a monthly meetup, content is continuously changing. Donut.js wanted to be sure that they had a flexbile platform with a custom domain and HTTPS. Check out what they had to say below.

Ed van der Elsken

The Scrollytelling team had the job of taking an amazing Dutch photographer’s life and transforming it into a beautiful, image-centric website. Commissioned by the Amsterdam Museum of Modern Art, it was important to convey his importance and amazing contributions to photography in the 20th century.

The Scrollytelling team decided that for this project, the JAMstack was the way to go. They checked out a variety of free options but various missing features meant ugly workarounds or inferior technology. They determined Netlify was the best option to deliver this visually touching website. See below for an interview with the team’s CTO below.

Apollo Launchpad

When Apollo Launchpad was released last week, not only were we excited because the tool is awesome, but it’s also on Netlify! Launchpad is an in-browser GraphQL server playground. You can write a GraphQL schema example in JavaScript, and instantly create a serverless, publicly-accessible GraphQL endpoint. Needless to say, this was a complicated project to take on, and the last thing the team wanted to worry about was their frontend.

This team was comparing Netlify to a few options, but ultimately the ease of use and the production-grade features (like SSL) won them over. Check out below with what the open source lead from Apollo had to say.

EuroGoals

EuroGoals is a site built for sports lovers all over the world. You pick five players, hope they score the heck out of their games, and compete for a spot on the Leaderboard

Although simple to use for the end user, it’s wasn’t that easy for the Tarcha group. They looked for a solution where they could manage multiple data points smoothly and transition in over half a dozen languages without a page reload. Check out how the Tarcha Group used Netlify to bring sports fans together.
