Reactathon

We love the React community and we are excited to spread the word about Reactathon.

To foster the robust community in San Francisco, Reactathon has planned a week full of exciting events. In fact, we’ll be there ourselves hosting a workshop, delivering a keynote, and hanging out at the hiring mixer.

When the team from Real World React was looking for a platform to deploy their site for Reactathon, they chose Netlify. Already believers in the JAMstack approach, the Real World React team utilized Netlify seamlessly from the get go. Check out which integrations and features they love most.

A few words with Berkeley from Real World React...

Tell us a little about your project?
Netlify
Reactathon is one week of community-run events leading up to Facebook’s React Conf in March. Events include a Meetup at Pinterest, seven workshops from six industry leaders, a hiring mixer with a leading company in the Bay Area, and a weekend hackathon at GitHub. Our goals are to build community, educate newcomers to the React.js ecosystem, showcase the experts, and further empower the advanced developer.

Why did you choose Netlify?
Netlify
We are big fans of the JAMstack and think it’s the future of the web. JAM stack sites are more secure, faster, and easier to develop. There are so many microservices that replace the need for a database such as Typeform, Firebase, and email subscription widgets. These services help with development speed and cost effectiveness. If you decide that you need more advanced back-end options there is AWS Lambda and Serverless to keep you on the JAMstack. Netlify embodies all of these benefits and more. It is cost-effective, reliable, and makes development fantastically simple.

What’s your favorite thing about Netlify?
Netlify
Previews and Rollbacks, of course! It allows us to experiment with our site without worrying about breaking things in production.
