Assessing the right platform

“Composable” was originally referred to as “JAMstack.” This was meant as a specific, composable architecture that centered the deployment platform in the process.

This approach and the community we built around it put us at the forefront of deployment platforms. Since then, we’ve seen a number of other services and patterns emerge, including support for this architecture by major cloud players, including Amazon (AWS), Google (GCP), Microsoft (Azure), and CloudFlare.

Assessing the right platform

It’s impossible to lay out the perfect criteria for your organization.

The natural first step is typically to consider your major cloud provider partner (if you have one) as a potential solution for building and hosting your site as you transition to composable. However, these cloud providers have a massive range of focus, while platforms like Netlify are exclusively focused on providing a seamless composable experience.
