Milestones
To me, it feels like it was just yesterday we launched our 5 million devs celebration with a WebGL based browser game back at the end of 2024. .
It took us 5 years to reach 1 million developers in 2020, close to another 5 years to reach our 5 million milestone. Exactly on X-mas eve 2025 that number doubled as we crossed 10 million the same year Netlify turned 10 years old.
And this 10th year of Netlify marked a new begining: the era of Agent Experience.
2025 started with tools like Bolt.new, Lovable, and Repl.it surging in popularity and revenue as they opened the doors to building software for millions and millions of new users, and ended with the rise of Claude Code and incredible models like Opus 4.5 clearly showing that the way we all develop for the web has permanently changed.
Agents are now writing the code and this opens up the web as a platform to build on to millions, maybe even billions of new users.
And once you start building real-world value-creating software at work – with AI Agents writing the code – You are now a developer.
