Today we’re launching a subtle but fundamental change to Netlify. We’re expanding from deployment platform, to the best place to start a new web project, build with an agent and ship to production.

This little prompt box let’s you build with the world’s strongest coding agents, Claude Code, Codex CLI and Gemini CLI. You can iterate, collaborate and ship with Netlify — all without leaving your browser.
Our goal is that every project you start with Netlify, is setup with a strong structure and foundation that’s equally well suited for an AI native developer building entirely by prompting, or for a deep, technical developer who wants a production-ready architecture.
Jack Herrington from the open-source Tanstack team, who recently joined Netlify, has worked on the core skills to allow Claude, Codex or Gemini to craft the right Tanstack starters for your project, with a full set of skills that work both inside our agent runners or with your local coding agent.
From agents deploying, to building with agents
Until now, Netlify has been a destination for projects built elsewhere. We built our core workflow layer to extend the git-centric workflow and connect to platforms like GitHub as the place where work got done.
In the old world, our assumption was that developers would start new projects either from a front-end framework or their own internal project boilerplates or templates.
Today, it’s becoming increasingly rare for any of us to start new projects that way. Coding agents are becoming the new natural starting point, whether through vibe coding platforms like Bolt or Lovable, coding IDE’s like Cursor or Windsurf or the coding agents from the frontier labs with Claude Code and Codex as the current favorites.
At Netlify we’ve made it our north star to offer the best Agent Experience of any deployment platform. And last year we launched Agent Runners to let all of our users prompt their favorite coding agents from right inside Netlify.
For our internal team, this meant inviting PMs, product marketeers, designers, and other stakeholder to be a full part of our development team. It made it trivial to test new ideas within our own apps and websites, roll out features with a prompt and let stakeholders build new pages themselves instead of waiting for developer capacity.
The next billion developers
As a founder, it’s been incredible to see our platform reach a whole new audience of millions of new AI native builders,. It’s been equally exciting exploring what being a developer looks like in a world where agents write the code.
We live in an exciting moment where building software is shifting from being limited to a select few and to becoming a skillset everyone will be expected to master to some degree. And where the teams building on Netlify will shift from being pure software developers, towards a much broader range of personas with a much broader skillset.
The first version of Netlify focused on being the fastest path to go from code to URL on a full production ready platform.
Today, we’re moving one level closer to your creativity and ideas, and giving you the fastest path from prompt to production.
I can’t wait to see what you all build..
